How to use LinkedIn
Here’s a simple guide on how to optimize your LinkedIn profile and post effective content to boost your visibility.
LinkedIn is the most powerful platform for B2B businesses and professionals to grow their networks, showcase expertise, and generate business opportunities. Yes, it takes time. Yes, it's worth it.
Snapmarket is best used to provide a base quantity of content for you to leverage in your own conversations, emails, comments, and more. We do that mostly through podcasts.
Ideally, you'll spend 10 minutes a day reviewing your LinkedIn feed and commenting or writing. Over time, especially with our content, you'll see your analytics improve. Here's what some clients have experienced as a result:
Here’s a simple guide on how to optimize your LinkedIn profile and post effective content to boost your visibility.
1. Optimize your profile.
Your LinkedIn profile is the first impression people get, so it’s important to make it look professional.
See Brandon’s profile as an example.
Profile photo: Choose a clear, high-quality photo. Make sure you’re well-dressed and looking approachable.
Header image: Use a custom graphic as your background image. You can include your company logo, website URL, or brand colors. This makes your profile visually appealing.
Headline: Keep it short and clear. For example, instead of saying, “I help businesses grow their online presence,” say “Digital Marketing Consultant at Snapmarket.” Shorter headlines ensure no important information gets cut off.
About section: Write a brief bio in the third person, summarizing your key skills, experience, and what you offer. Make it easy for people to copy and paste for speaking engagements or meetings.
Contact info and CTA: Include a main call-to-action (CTA), like visiting your website or subscribing to your newsletter.
2. Fill out experience and education.
Add as much information as possible about your work history, education, certifications, and licenses. This helps people understand your expertise and improves your profile's searchability.
3. Engage with content.
LinkedIn is all about building connections and starting conversations. Here’s how to create content that works:
Post short content: Share short posts with your thoughts, insights, or interesting updates. Keep it simple and clear.
Comment on others’ posts: Engage with others by leaving thoughtful comments on their posts. This boosts your visibility because others in the conversation will notice you.
Use visuals: Add photos, videos, or graphics to break up text in your feed. Visual content grabs attention.
Repurpose content: If you have a podcast or long-form content, break it down into smaller posts. A 30-minute podcast can turn into several posts, a blog, and more.
4. Interact with your network and messages.
Respond to messages and comments, even if you don’t know the person. It’s an easy way to start meaningful conversations and build relationships that could lead to opportunities. Make sure to tag the folks that you’re interacting with.
5. Post consistently.
Posting regularly helps keep your profile active and visible. Share once or twice a week at least—ideally, post once a day—to stay in people’s feeds. You don’t always have to talk about business—personal stories or reflections work well too.
6. Create video content.
Podcasts and videos are great for LinkedIn. You can record short 5–10 minute videos and post them. Use apps like Screen Studio or Loom to make your content look polished. Video posts tend to get more engagement and can be reused across platforms.

Final tip: Be selective with connections.
Only accept connection requests from people who are relevant to your work. Keep your network clean with high-quality contacts. However, if someone includes a message with their request, it’s a good practice to reply. Keep it simple to use your time effectively: “Hi there! How can I help?”
By optimizing your LinkedIn profile and engaging with your network through valuable content, you can effectively grow your professional presence and generate more business opportunities.
