Three conditions, and we hold all three. A site that launched but does not appear in search has not finished the chapter. A site that launched and ranks but cannot tell you who arrived or where they came from has not finished it either, because everything the Scale layer does for the next several years depends on that instrument being in place before the traffic starts.
What each condition means
Live is the obvious one. The site is public at your domain, responsive, tested, and editable by your team. Indexed means search engines can find and read it. Search Console verified, sitemap submitted, no accidental blocks left over from the staging environment. This last one is the classic failure—a site that spent six weeks correctly hidden from search and then launched with the hiding still switched on. Integrated means the forms go where they should, the email platform is connected, and analytics and conversion tracking are firing correctly and have been verified rather than merely installed.Why this is the artifact
Because it is the one asset you own outright, and because it is the moment the engine becomes real. Everything in Chapter 3 assumes it. A podcast needs somewhere for a listener to land. A newsletter needs somewhere to send people. A campaign needs a page that converts and reports. Publishing into a world with no destination is the most expensive mistake available in marketing, and it is common, because publishing feels like progress in a way that infrastructure does not.What it does not mean
It does not mean the site is finished forever. Sites are living things and § 2.1 keeps producing updates and landing pages for as long as the partnership lasts. It also does not mean measurement can yet tell you anything. The instruments exist from launch, but they need sixty to ninety days of clean data before any claim about improvement means something.
