This is the section where measurement becomes possible. The Scale layer is a posture that runs for the life of the partnership, but its instruments get installed here, once, inside Chapter 2.
The distinction is worth holding. § 2.3 is the tracking a website needs in order to answer basic questions—who arrived, from where, and what did they do. Scale’s own setup is the layer above it: cohorts, transition rates, and the reporting spine the monthly audit reads from. They are separate builds and we do not double-count them.

What we are and are not

We are translators, not a data science team. Our job is to make your data legible, not to invent more of it. That is a real limit and worth stating plainly. We do not build multi-touch attribution models or anything requiring data-science tooling, and if you ask for attribution modeling we will redirect you to a five-minute conversation at every closed deal instead—where did this customer first encounter you, what specifically prompted them to reach out, what was the last step before signing. For a business closing twenty to fifty customers a year, that retro is more honest than a model and far cheaper to maintain. What we are good at is taking messy data from six platforms and turning it into a clear account of what is working, in language you can take to a board meeting without a translator.

Track everything, once

One piece of discipline that pays for itself repeatedly: every link the team produces carries consistent tracking parameters, from the first day of the partnership. It costs nothing at the time. Without it, six months later you have traffic you cannot attribute and a question you cannot answer, and there is no retroactive fix. This is the kind of thing that is invisible when done and irreversible when skipped.
